Tired of the malls in Singapore and just wanting to do something different? Try exploring these places! It’s not as exciting as wakeboarding, so your parents and young ones can also find fun in these places.
Southern Ridges

This is a scenic series of trails that connect West Coast Park to Harbourfront MRT station. Spanning a total of 9km, it has highlights such as the Henderson Waves, a 274m-long wave-shaped pedestrian bridge found 36m above the ground. You’ll also find a 1.3km-long elevated walkway through the forest on Telok Banglah Hill, offering you views of the flora that you can’t get from the ground.
Getting there: Public transport is recommended as you’ll make your way from one end of Southern Ridges to the other.

Woodlands Waterfront
Found near the Causeway, Woodlands Waterfront is a park that allows you to look across the Straits of Johor to Johor Bahru. The coastal park has the standard shelters littered everywhere that are perfect for a breather or a family picnic. The park also has a track running through it that’s made for joggers and cyclists. What’s interesting about this park is that there’s a 700-metre cantilevered waterfront promenade, which has lookout points that bring visitors even closer to the coastline.
Getting there: By taxi or by driving to Admiralty Road West, or by bus 856 from Woodlands Interchange.

Changi Point
If you’re near the east, then Changi Point is another area that you can visit. A 2.6km boardwalk brings you from Changi Point Ferry Terminal to Andover Road. You’ll pass sections such as the Beach Walk, where you’ll be close to the beach, Cliff Walk, where you’ll be on a part of the boardwalk that’s built on top of a cliff, and Sunset Walk, which has the best vantage spots to catch the sunset, and Kelong Walk, which is built on stilts (like kelongs). Finish the day with a sumptuous hawker meal at Changi Village hawker centre, located just next to Changi Point Ferry Terminal, which is famous for its nasi lemak.
Getting there: Drive or take a taxi to Changi Village Road. Buses are also available to Changi Village Bus Terminal.
